An original Irish whiskey advertisement design inspired by early Dublin distillery advertising, promoting Jameson Irish Whiskey and the historic Bow Street Distillery.

The advertisement promotes John Jameson & Son at a time before Jameson became the globally recognised Irish whiskey brand it is today.

John Jameson, a Scottish businessman, purchased the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin in 1780. The distillery was producing around 30,000 gallons annually, rising to over a million gallons by the early nineteenth century as Jameson Irish Whiskey became increasingly successful.

Today, these posters are recognised as part of the character of traditional Irish pubs — bringing that same sense of place into a home bar, pub or interior space.
