Thwaites Soda Water Poster features artwork from original Dublin mineral water advertising designs dating from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Advertisements such as these once appeared throughout pubs, bars and spirit grocers across Ireland and formed part of the everyday visual character of Irish public houses.

This poster is original 1980s print stock produced from the historic advertisement artwork and printed as a lithographic poster for the Irish pub trade. These posters were supplied to pubs across Ireland as décor and are not modern reproductions. Remaining stock is finite and increasingly scarce.

Founded in Dublin in 1799, Thwaites Soda Water became associated with the early popularity of carbonated drinks in Ireland. The strong typography and period advertising style of the design made it a natural fit within traditional Irish pub interiors alongside whiskey and tobacco advertisements.

Today these posters are recognised from Irish pub walls and are popular for home bars, kitchens, hospitality interiors and collections focused on Irish advertising history and pub culture.
